I was born in a small town in Tennessee because the even smaller town in Georgia where my parents lived didn't have a hospital. Po-dunk. Since my father is a United Methodist Pastor eventually moved closer to Atlanta, to a nice place called Tucker. Almost all of my extended family lives within an hour or so from each other in the Atlanta area. So naturally I left home for Young Harris College. After finishing two years there and graduateing with a Associates in Religious Studies I transferred to Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky of all places. Here I studied Bible Theology and graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor's in Arts. I also met my wife Amanda there. She was a Christian Ministries major and also earned a BA. Amanda is from Michigan in the Detroit area. She had also transferred in, but from the University of Michigan. After we graduated, we got ourselves hitched (no shot gun required).
Amanda took a full time position with then Watertown Nazarene Church in very Upstate New York. I help Amanda with youth group stuff ranging from music to graphic design. I also became a part of the worship team at Watertown Nazarene, and with the worship leader, Becca Dyke, began to transform the way that this church worshiped. The church has grown considerably and is now meeting in two different sites and is called Life Church of the Nazarene. Life (no pun intended) just wasn't complete enough for us so we decided to get a dog: enter Jack the Boxer. Of course, not too far after this change God dropped a screaming bundle of joy into our laps: Ethan. Obviously at this point the grandparents reading this have already checked out to go in search of more pictures of him.
I spend my time between the church, my family and work. Currently I'm a substitute teacher at the local high schools and in the summers I am a raft guide for Whitewater Challengers on the Black River. If I'm not doing that I'm probably at one of the local surf waves.
All in all it's a pretty sweet life.
